Bar stools often come with a Foot Rest, and they were originally more widely used in bars or lounges. But with the popularity these days of kitchen islands and breakfast bars, they are finding their way more into homes, too.
Bar stools have various styles, that appeal to many different people. There are still bar stools made of plain wood, but there are so many other kinds now. Their style can help to accent the room where you use them, and they can sit people up higher when they are eating or drinking.
There are quite a few variations in the construction of bar stools. They are commonly seen in metal and wood. The average height for bar stools is about 30 inches, or 26 inches in kitchen applications. Contemporary styles sometimes use taller stools, that are about 36 inches tall, which creates a visual effect that is striking, in various types of interiors.
Some other materials used in the construction of bar stools include bamboo or rattan, and these give a nice island-feel to a room or deck. You can also buy bar stools that are styled like those of the 50's and 60's, and these are nice conversation pieces.
