Furniture furniture designers such as Nanna Ditzel

The School of Arts and Crafts and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark, gave birth to some of the world's most well-known furniture designers and architecture of the 20th century. Nanna Ditzel, who was born in the city in 1923, is one of the few women whose name is known in the furniture community and recognized as one of the best. Nanna Ditzel graduate in furniture design in 1946 at the age of 23 and establiNanna Ditzeld his own studio with the first husband Jorgen Ditzel the same year. Nanna Ditzel still works in the design sector today.

Nanna Ditzel career was launched in the years after World War II and Nanna Ditzel was faced with the design of furniture that incorporated not only new materials but also new techniques. Some materials Nanna Ditzel has worked with over his long career include the fiberglass, wicker, and foam. Furniture is not the only thing Nanna Ditzel applied his knowledge for. Nanna Ditzel is a cabinetmaker by training and has worked in jewelry design, textiles, and tableware. Nanna Ditzel tried his hand at art applied and during the 1950 Nanna Ditzel, even dabbled in the floor seats on two levels, as many homes the design techniques of the time used as a platform hollow chambers or in relief.

Some of Nanna Ditzel signature parts include the "two-Seater Sofa ', which was well accepted. It was very intriguing and curved design of the eyes still remained in both decorative and functional. In 1954, Nanna Ditzel and her husband began to craft jewelry that won the two gold and silver at the Trienalle Milan. Jewelry inspired Nanna Ditzel developed new from water to create ripples little metal as if a stone had been thrown into a pond. Nanna Ditzel wanted his pieces to communicate in a simple and elegant that was both organic and unique. Nanna Ditzel has continued his creative efforts, even after Jorgen died in 1961 and participated in many shows "a woman" throughout Europe. Nanna Ditzel began working with textiles which are distributed by Kvadrat.

In 1968, Nanna Ditzel married fellow artist Kurt Heide and moved to England. Together they founded the company Interspace, an international design firm including Nanna Ditzel Productions who sells jewelry, textiles and furniture. Many of his designs are still produced by Georg Jensen, Fredericia, Kvist, Getama, and other furniture manufacturers. Interspace is still strong and is a leading international home furnishings today.

Nanna Ditzel has won numerous awards for his design work, including the Gold Medal in 1990 cabinet design contest held in Japan. The play that earned him the price was the "Bench for Two" Fredericia product. Nanna Ditzel was elected Honorable Royal Designer in London in 1996 and has received Artist in life " grants from the Danish Ministry of Culture in 1998. The Danish Ministry of Education has produced a film about Ditzel covering his ideas and working methods and Nanna Ditzel was the subject of Henrik Sten Moller book "Motion and beauty."
