Last but not the least the other common number of coils used in mattresses is 540 coils. Mattresses with 540 coils are the best as far as comfort and durability is concerned. The main feature of open spring mattresses is that they are not that costly as compare of two other types of mattresses that is that they are most commonly used mattresses around the world.
Pocket Spring Mattresses: The main difference in these types of mattresses and earlier one is that the springs or coils used in these mattresses are placed in a pocket specifically made to house the springs or coils. Because the coils are placed in especially made pockets, they are usually less noticed by the person using the mattress. Another amazing feature of these types of mattresses is that these come in different shapes and even some manufactures introduced mattress with adjustable features. If you read or hear about Marshall coils don't be confused, this is other name of pocket coils. These pockets are connected with each other whereas springs are independent from each other. Disadvantage of this type of mattresses is that these do not last for long time which is the main concern for every buyer of mattresses.
Foam Mattresses: This is another common type of mattresses which can be categorized in silent night mattresses. Biggest reason for their popularity is their feature to absorb the body weight. Foam mattresses can easily be used with or without a bed. That is why most people prefer to buy these types of mattresses. Also they are cheaper then any other type of mattresses. Especially those people with any problem with their spinal cord prefer to use Foam Mattress. Some people complain that these type of mattresses get hotter during use but this depends on the environment these foam mattresses are being used.
