Space Saving Ideas: Bed Frames With Storage
It seems like no matter what we do there never seems to be enough space to store all the things we would like to keep. The downsizing of homes in the last couple of decades has caused manufacturers to come up with some innovative storage solutions for the average home owner. One of the solutions that these manufacturers have come up with in bed frames with storage.
The reasoning behind this innovation was simple. Everyone needs a bed and beds take up a certain about of space. However, much of the space under the bed was being wasted. So, manufacturers got the idea if they simply made beds that were a bit higher off the floor they could combine Storage Drawers and a bed that could easily occupy the same space. The idea was a hit and now beds of all sizes can offer additional storage areas without taking up any additional space. Twin beds, day beds, loft beds, Queen and King Size bed frames are all being built with storage compartments under the bed to provide the home owner with extra storage space in what was before simply wasted space.
Platform Bed frames offer a wonderful and aesthetically pleasing way to combine sleeping and storage space. Many of these beds are fitted with attractive looking drawers built right into the platform allowing not only for storage but possibly a saving in money because you may not have to purchase a separate dresser. Some king Size Platform beds offer up to 6 roomy drawers to keep clothes or other items you wish to store. Some platform beds have a top that lifts up and a Large Storage space is built right into the frame. In addition many of these beds have headboards with built in bookcases or small cubby holes for even more storage.
Many Twin Size beds provide under the bed drawers or cubby holes as well allowing even small rooms to take advantages of this space saving storage idea. Some beds even have trundles with allow you to store an extra bed out of sight when it is not needed for guests.
Many manufactures also build Loft Bed frames with built in storage as well. Some have built in dressers, book cases, armoires, and cubby holes underneath the beds as well as study desks. Making it possible to fit almost all the furniture needed in a bedroom in very small place.
For people who all ready have a perfectly good bed frame but, find it too low to use the underneath of the bed for storage space there is a simple solution. By purchasing bed risers you can raise the height of your bed and then either build your own drawers or buy plastic drawers or container for under the Bed Storage.
Bed frames with storage is one of the great space ideas to be developed in recent years. No longer do you have dream of having more storage space in your home. You can sleep on or over that storage space each and every night.

Just create slots in the head- and foot-boards to receive the hooks. Hooks are made for pins which are 2" on center. They require a 3/32" kerf which is 3-1/2" high x 1-1/8" deep on the bed rail.
