The latest Feadship luxury motoryacht launched by Royal van Lent is the 200-foot April Fool, project name Lioness. Feadship brings their high standards in craftsmanship and luxury to the table for this ultimate yacht-lovers delight.
Highlights of this massive ship include a four-deck elevator, a custom electric awning on the sun deck, and a stellar full-beam owner's suite. In addition to the owner's suite, April Fool has four other spacious staterooms and other quarters to house up to eighteen crewmembers.
Every Feadship launch is a special occasion, but project Lioness was particularly special. Hundreds of people contributed in this yacht from design to development. The launch was a chance to show the hard work and dedication that went on for several years. Naturally, the date the owners chose to receive the April Fool was April 1st.
Project Lioness was designed by De Voogt Naval Architects and is a twin-screw motoryacht with a steel hull, aluminum superstructure that is capable of speeds of 16 knots. Feadship was chosen to ensure that every conceivable detail of the yacht would be technically perfect.
The need for yacht perfection holds true on vessels that push the technically possible. A good example of this need is the April Fool's elevator which rises from the lower deck to the sun deck. Technical aspects such as these require another level of design and craftsmanship above and beyond the ordinary. Other complexities of the April Fool include huge restrictions in the piping, wiring and communication systems, and AC systems. Feadship answered the call and created a true masterpiece.
April Fool was created for family entertainment, but the layout of the staterooms and other areas of the ship make for a very private setting. The eighteen crewmembers and various guests of the ship are completely separated, yet the overall design flows together and optimizes the layout for maximum space.
The tank deck features huge storage and laundry facilities, the Dining Room is quite expansive, and the professional galley and extra pantries are all examples of utilizing space to create large rooms. Outdoor dining is also a crucial aspect of the April Fool. The aft and sun deck do a great job of reflecting the emphasis.
The ship has an eclectic mix of cherry and oak interiors. It's based on a concept by Larvor of France. With the interior finish and quality furniture used, the atmosphere onboard is peaceful and relaxed. Inside of the yacht, there's also a beautiful staircase and azure blue glass paneling that runs deck to deck.
Also inside the yacht are various aquarium settings where guests can view fish and other marine life in their natural habitat. The main deck has a very open feel, and the light color scheme sets the tone for the rest of the yacht. The Master Bedroom is decked out in Cherry Wood, with a huge bathroom occupying the full beam.
Every square inch of Project Lioness is covered in exceptional detail. Per the owners' requests, Feadship has created one of the finest luxury motoryachts sailing the ocean today.

Royal Oak $18.98 Stories describe Michigan's first governor, Lewis Cass, signing a treaty with the Chippewa in 1918 and resting nearby with companions under a swamp oak a few miles north of Detroit. Cass told the story of Prince Charles II, who took refuge in 1651 under a mighty oak tree after the Battle of Worcester and lived to be crowned king. Cass later designated the locality, including the southernmost townships in Oakland County, as Royal Oak. This sector became a village in 1891 and a city in 1921. Strong roots have helped the "City of Trees" maintain its viability through the years. Home to William Beaumont Hospital, assorted high-tech graphic and sound studios, and a world-class zoo, today Royal Oak draws people into its pedestrian-friendly downtown for an eclectic mix of bars, sidewalk cafAA(c)s, boutiques, theaters, and upscale lofts. |
